Where to find Thai Basil in Sherman Oaks

While there are talks of a community garden in the neighborhood (more to come soon), there is no produce specialty shop other than Farm Boy at Hazeltine and Riverside abut to Trader Joes.

They don't get too exotic, but it supplements your Trader Joes shopping with more and better choices of fruits and vegetables. They even have a small sushi station!

Check it out.

I believe the TJs and Farm Boy are actually at Hazeltine and _Riverside_ -- diagonal to the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square (aka Westfield Sherman Oaks)

We check them out regularly.

Oops! Thanks for catching that erratum.

there is a small garden on Moorpark near Kester, it belongs to a restaurant. There is more opportunity for that in the future as exotic produce sometimes has to be grown local to be fresh enough for upscale restaurants.

I believe there lies a wonderful opportunity with VNSO park to develop a community garden and perhaps a small time ag center. With this the items could be sold at the farmers market. The space for the market could be established where they currently hold the fair crap and along Van Nuys Blvd. The local elementries could be brought into play with programs that allow them to partcipate. This is the way to go.

Easy to find at the Thai market. On Sherman Way between Coldwater and Fulton. It is cold Sanamluang market. I try to grow Thai basil in my garden, but isn't easy.
